Ross Farms – German Valley, IL

Partner With Us

If you’re considering renting out your farmland, we’d love to discuss how our approach to farming can maximize your land’s potential in terms of yield and soil health. Some of the benefits you can expect when you partner with us are:

  • Asset preservation – Our conservation practices of No-Till and cover crops help keep your valuable topsoil in the field instead of in the ditch or the river, so your asset can continue to produce good crops and good rents for many years to come.

  • Variable Lease – Our variable lease rental arrangement rewards you with a bonus payment in years of higher net profits due to above average yields and/or commodity prices. In lower profit years, you are still protected with a guaranteed base rent. This system has proven itself time and again to be a win-win for both the landowner and the tenant.

  • Compaction Minimization – Some of today’s farm equipment is so big it can literally squeeze the life out of your soil, decreasing the water holding capacity of the soil, impeding crop roots from growing deeper, and hurting yields in the long run. To minimize compaction, we use two smaller, lighter combines to harvest instead of one huge combine. We also have tracks on our grain carts instead of wheels to help distribute the weight more evenly and reduce compaction.

  • Timely weed control – Owning our own sprayer, as opposed to hiring an outside party to spray our fields means that we can get into the field and take care of weed problems when needed without having to wait on someone else’s schedule.

  • Roadside and waterway mowing – To keep your farm looking well-manicured we regularly mow the roadside ditches and waterways.

  • Financial stability – Our longevity, experience, and size allow us to weather the ups and downs of the farm economy, meaning landowners can always expect to receive their rent payments on time.

  • Transparency – We are always happy to share information regarding the farming practices on your land, including fertilizing rates and yields.
